Early music concert in Narva Town Hall
Salome Stroganova (cello)
November 25 at 5:00 p.m we are waiting for you at the early music concert in Narva Raekotta, where a young and talented cellist from Georgia will perform Salome Stroganova.
The concert features works for solo cello by the great masters of baroque music, Johann Sebastian Bach and Domenico Gabrielli.
The special feature of the concert program is the use of scordatura. Scordature is an alternative tuning method in which the highest string of the cello is tuned to a G note instead of the usual A note. Such tuning changes the resonance of the instrument, creates new sound colors and allows listeners to discover the rich sound world of the cello from a completely different angle.
About the performer
Salome Stroganova is a cellist from Tbilisi, Georgia, whose musical journey began at the age of six with piano studies. In 2024, he joined the Tbilisi Youth Orchestra, with whom he performed in the prestigious Berlin Konzerthaus in August 2025. During the same visit, he also participated in an improvisational collaboration project with an Indonesian ensemble.
From August 2025, Salome will study at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theater in the cello class of Professor Henry-David Varema and improve her skills in baroque cello under the guidance of Johanna Randvere.
In Estonia, he has participated in several master classes, studying under renowned musicians, including Fabio Presgrave, Erkki Lahesmaa, Kangho Lee, Katie Raitinen, Theodor Bau, Amit Tiefenbrunn, Alessandra Montani, Yannis Rammos and Agnès Sulem.
