28. August 2025 at 5:00 pm will take place in the Rugodiv Chamber Hall of Narva Culture House as part of the project "Living Dialogue" in the framework of the project "Living Dialogue".
Alexander Openko was born in Narva and has been passionate about the history of his hometown since childhood. He has graduated from Narva Pähklimäe School and has completed a Master of History at Tallinn University.
Since 2006, he has been working as a history and civics teacher, active in education and culture and currently manages Narva 6th school.
Alexander Openko is the author of popular books, including "The Secret of the Persian House", "Narva-Jõesuu" and "Narva Stories". He conducts costumed tours, organizes historic salon evenings and creates video projects from Narva history. His excursions are like a theatrical performance: costumes, legends and living stories that come to life directly on the streets. In addition to the fact that Alexander talks about the old Narva, he actively work with young people, deals with local history studies and collects old postcards.
2023. In 2007, he was awarded the White Star Class V Order for his contribution to the development of Ida-Viru County culture and education. At the end of the meeting there is an open dialog - the audience has the opportunity to ask questions and discuss the topics covered.
The event is held in the framework of the Estonian Book of the Year.
