More opportunities to be active in Ida-Viru County

Ida-Viru Liigub is a county-wide physical activity project aimed at making exercise and sport easier, more visible and more accessible for people throughout Ida-Viru County.

As part of the project, physical activity events, open training sessions, hikes, competitions and training programmes will be organised across Ida-Viru County, while sports and physical activity infrastructure will also be developed. The goal is to help more people find a way of being active that suits them – whether it is a leisurely hike, a guided workout, a family event or a sports competition.

The project helps make physical activity opportunities in Ida-Viru County more visible, strengthens cooperation between local governments, sports organisations and communities, and improves access to exercise and sporting opportunities throughout the county.

What will be done during the project?

Throughout the project period, a wide range of physical activities and infrastructure developments are planned across Ida-Viru County to make sport and exercise easier, more visible and more accessible.

The activities are designed for people of different ages and levels of experience – both for those who are just getting started and for those who are already regularly active.

Development of sports and physical activity infrastructure

As part of the project, sports facilities and related services will be developed to make opportunities for physical activity less dependent on weather conditions, more convenient, flexible and accessible.

› Developments at Alutaguse Health Sports Centre:
　› purchase of a ski trail grooming machine
　› construction of a garage for the trail grooming machine
　› development of artificial snow production infrastructure
　› construction of padel courts
　› construction of a PVC hall over the padel courts and multisport court
　› expansion of the physical activity area for children and young people

› Developments at Heino Lipp Stadium:
　› construction of a roof/shelter over the grandstand
　› purchase and installation of an accessibility lift

› Developments at Tammiku Sports Centre:
　› construction of an indoor skatepark
　› improvement of changing and auxiliary facilities

› Developments of sports facilities in the Jõhvi area:
　› renewal of the surface of the Toila tennis court
　› renewal of the surface of the Voka basketball court
