Ceremonial presentation of the Virumaa literary award

The 2025 Virumaa Literary Award ceremony will take place on April 10 at the Ida-Virumaa Vocational Education Center COSMOS cultural cafe. The event starts at 5:30 p.m., but those interested are welcome from 4:30 p.m., because the IVKHK cafe is open.

This year's Virumaa Literary Award was awarded to the writer Indrek Koff with the work "Ära ota meda", the author of the visual part of which is the artist Olena London. It is a thought-provoking work that combines literature and visual art and deals, among other things, with memories and social issues.

At the festive event, the audience will have the opportunity to meet Indrek Koffi and listen to an interview with him. The conversation will be conducted by Ave-Marleen Rei, the editor of the cultural program "OP", who will open the story of the birth of the work and its background together with the author.

The evening is enriched by a musical interlude performed by Teno Kongi, offering listeners a lively cultural experience.

The event ends with a common cake and coffee table, where visitors have the opportunity to chat and share impressions in a free atmosphere.

The Virumaa Literary Award is an award given annually to an outstanding Estonian literary work, and it highlights both authors and important topics in Estonian literature. Since 1998, the event and the awarding of the Virumaa Literary Award have been organized by the associations of Lääne and Ida-Viru municipalities.

The event is free for all interested parties.
