Fake news, conspiracy theories and truth - where is the line?
We invite you to watch the eloquently topical documentary and participate in the discussion.
Bulgarian director Tonislav Hristov's film explores the spread and impact of disinformation in today's society. The story follows investigative journalist Genka Šikerova, who tries to understand how fake news is created, spread and who benefits from it. His opposite is Ivan Gerassimov, who spreads chemical cloud conspiracy theories and conducts peculiar experiments to "prove" them. In the run-up to the elections, the spread of false information becomes particularly intense, and there is a suspicion that it has political connections.
The film does not give ready-made judgments, but allows different points of view to be heard, leaving the viewer the opportunity to draw their own conclusions.
The event starts with an introduction and a short film introduction and review conducted by Mikhail Komashko – Radio 4 Narva studio journalist and TV and radio host. He graduated from the St. Petersburg State Institute of Cinema and Television with a degree in screenwriting and also obtained a post-graduate degree in art science.
After the film, there will be a discussion with an expert in a cozy atmosphere with coffee and snacks.
