Narva Jazz Club's May concert will bring three highly regarded musicians of Estonian music to the audience — saxophonist Raivo Tafenau, bassist Raul Vaigla and guitarist Ain Agan.
Raivo Tafenau is one of the most recognizable saxophonists in Estonian jazz. His playing combines a strong sense of melody, a warm sound and an immediate improvisational energy. Over the decades, Tafenau has been one of the most active musicians, band leaders and concert organizers in Estonian jazz life, whose creative reach extends from chamber jazz to large ensembles.
Raul Vaigla is one of the most important names in the Estonian bass game — a musician whose deep groove, experience and stage presence have shaped the sound of many bands. His playing combines precision, freedom and a strong musical character.
Ain Agan is a guitarist whose sensitive and mature musical language is familiar to both the jazz audience and the general music listener. In his playing, sound culture, melodic thinking and attentive listening to his ensemble partners have a special place.
Tafenau, Vaigla and Agan form a trio where great experience of Estonian music, lively improvisation and good stage energy meet. The audience is waiting for a spring jazz evening in the heart of Narva — music that is born in the moment and sounds directly.
