At Virumaa College, the cultural history picture cards of the artist Olev Soans and serious graphics from the collection of Maive and Jüri Rute are on display.
At Virumaa College, 18 picture cards of Olev Soans, important from the point of view of Estonian cultural history, are on display. The exhibition history of the seven exhibited pages dates back to 1986, when they were presented in Helsinki. The current collection traveled to the Estonian Embassy in Brussels, Belgium in the fall of 2025 and to the Estonian Embassy in Berlin, Germany in the spring of 2026. Now the journey of picture cards continues in Kohtla-Järve. These exceptionally detailed maps combine art, knowledge and Estonian cultural history.
At the Virumaa College exhibition, you can get acquainted with the free graphics of Soans in addition to the picture cards. There are 17 works on display, several of which are directly related to the industry and places of Ida-Virumaa.
This is how a special dialogue has arisen at Virumaa College - the industrial Ida-Virumaa, captured through the eyes of an artist decades ago, reaches the environment of today's technology and engineering education.
- There are graphics on display in Auditorium 101 on the 1st floor
- Picture cards are displayed in the lobby of the 3rd floor
The exhibition is open every day from 8 am to 6 pm until February 2027.
