Starting from mid-October, Narva Castle will host a travelling exhibition by the Estonian Archaeologists’ Association, showcasing the most significant archaeological fieldwork carried out in 2024.
Last year, archaeologists submitted 243 research reports to the National Heritage Board. Most of these were small-scale rescue excavations whose importance for understanding the past will emerge over time. Larger excavations, however, allow for preliminary results to be presented soon after the fieldwork and artefact processing have been completed.
This is the third consecutive year that the Estonian Archaeologists’ Association has organised the travelling exhibition of archaeological fieldwork.
The exhibition will remain open until 9 November and can be visited during Narva Castle’s regular opening hours.
