About the event:
“Sea, Music and Ancient Bonfires” is a continuation of the “Night of Ancient Bonfires” held in 2007 at Toila Harbour.
The Night of Ancient Bonfires is an old Scandinavian tradition of lighting coastal fires to mark the end of the summer season, strengthen community ties, and commemorate those who have passed. The modern revival began in Finland in 1992 and has spread along the Baltic Sea coast to Sweden, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Germany, Denmark, and Estonia. Fires are traditionally lit at 21:30 so that each can be seen from the next.
