16:00–16:45 - Part I. How is the news structured and where can I get news topics? We find out what news is and how it differs from fact or opinion; we look at the main formats and structure of the news; we talk about where news topics come from and how to distinguish reliable information from fake news; we develop news topics.
16:45–17:15 Coffee break
17:15–18:00 - Part II Let's write the news: from draft to finished text. We discuss the stages of creating a news story: how to collect information, what questions to ask, the logic of presenting information, working with quotes and figures, news language and editing methods.

Tatjana Gassova has worked in various structures of the Estonian National Broadcasting Company for 16 years. Since 2020, Tatjana has been the head of the Russian-language radio news department (aired on Radio 4) and since 2022, the editor-in-chief of the portal rus.err.ee. He actively participates in media literacy projects, regularly conducts master courses for teachers, social workers and young people, is the host of the program "Interview in the week" on the ETV+ channel, co-author of the program series "Domoi" on the ETV+ channel, curator of the portal rus.err.ee "Summer Journalism School" and responsible editor and reporter of the program "Aktuaalne kaamera+" on the ETV+ channel.
