Osades: Saara Pius and Alo Kõrve (Tallinn City Theater)
Director Thomas has an extraordinarily bad day behind his back for his new production as an intrusive and powerful actress, Vanda, who also overlaps with the main character of the play. Initially, skeptical Thomas is surprised by the embarrassingly accurate knowledge of both the piece and the short story on which the production is based. When Thomas helps Vanda's text counteracting, embodying the masochistic man, the role -playing will become much more than acting. It becomes an intense and erotic spectacle. The main characters of David Ives's play are masculine and feminine sexuality, which explores the subjects of surrender, domination and power with fast and changing language. In the production, reality and pretense become blurred lines and the question "Who will stay?" There is a different answer every time.
"Venus fur" is based on the short story of the same name (1869), the best-known work of the Austrian writer Leopold von Sacher-Masoch. The word "masochism" is derived from the name of the writer.
We assume that the production is interesting for both young and older generation. It has a lot of poetry, visuality. Masoch differs from de Sade in that he has no objection. He is aesthetic to the maximum
