Photo contest "Colors of freedom - blue black and white"

The photo contest "Colors of freedom - blue, black and white" is dedicated to the Estonian flag as a national symbol and the restoration of Estonia's independence. In 2026, 35 years will pass since Estonia regained its independence.

The purpose of the competition is to capture the blue and white flag of Estonia in different environments and situations, highlighting its meaning as a carrier of freedom, identity and historical memory.

Conditions of participation

  • Each participant can submit up to 3 photos.
  • Photos must be taken by the participant.
  • The photo must have a clearly recognizable Estonian flag.
  • The photo must be of high technical quality (sharp, with correct exposure and sufficient resolution).
  • The flag must be displayed correctly and with dignity.
  • By participating in the competition, the author gives the organizer the right to use the submitted photos in the presentation of the competition and the exhibition, including in later displays and communications, with the author's name.

Submission of works
Photos must be sent to the e-mail address: foto@ivol.ee
When sending large files, use Google Drive or another file sharing service.

When submitting photos, the first and last name of the author, contact information, the name of the photo and the location where the photo was taken must be stated in the letter.

File requirements

  • Format: JPEG (.jpg) or PNG (.png)
  • Longer side at least 3000 px
  • Maximum size 10 MB

Evaluation and awards

  • The works are evaluated by a jury.
  • The best works are recognized with souvenirs.
  • A traveling exhibition will be prepared from the best of the competition. The traveling exhibition will be opened on August 20, 2026 at the Rugodiv Cultural Center in Narva, to celebrate the 35th anniversary of Estonia's re-independence.
