As part of the Finno-Ugric Days in Narva, the Fenno-Ugria Foundation invites everyone to a free concert by Georg Buljo Duo.
The performance by Georg Buljo Duo is a musical journey that combines Sámi yoik, improvisation, and electronic soundscapes. The duo consists of Georg Buljo (yoik, percussion, guitar, electronics) — a guitarist best known for his work in the band of the famous Sámi singer Mari Boine — and Per Willy Aaserud (trumpet, keyboards, vocals). The two musicians have collaborated for nearly 40 years.
The concert in Narva is based on the 2025 album “Du dološ dálá áigi” (“Your Lasting Past”), whose resonant music explores the relationship between past and present, tradition and innovation.
Over the past two decades, Georg Buljo has focused particularly on yoik, paying equal attention to both the overall musical form and the fine details within it. Aaserud brings to the stage influences from jazz, pop, and world music, having contributed to more than a hundred recordings.
