Mulgs are back! The new domestic comedy film "Säärane mulk" by the makers of "Vigased prudid" is based on the first original play in Estonian literary history. Screenwriter Ott Kilusk has adapted the hilarious adventure to the screen, bringing the author, Lydia Koidula herself, to the center of the story as a character.

Young Lydia, who has unexpectedly received two declarations of love from two different young men, travels to the countryside to visit her good friends to put her heart in order. However, instead of the hoped-for peace, he finds himself in a whirlwind of passionate events. Maie, the most beautiful girl in the village, stands just like him, between two suitors - the honest Märdi and the lying Ennu. His heart tugs violently towards Märt, but the greedy father Peeter refuses to confess because of Märt's old enmity against the mulks. Funny incidents and romantic love intrigues mix with the fight for lands and possessions. This is how Koidula's soul tremors and the love games of the village intertwine in one colorful story.
