Come and discover The southern swamp landscapes of Alutagus National Park and their hidden stories on a two-day snowshoe trip .
During the hike, we will move with snowshoes across the swamps to the ridges that rise in the middle of the swamps, we will visit the surroundings of the Imatu lake and we will travel through landscapes that we do not usually get to . We get to know the flora and fauna of marshes, we talk about the formation of wetlands and their importance in nature .
Alutaguse is one of the wildest and least visited regions of Estonia . Meet here extensive marshes, old forests and small villages , which has its own special history and culture . Throughout the centuries, the region has been both a refuge and a habitat - a place where nature and man have had to find a balance .
We also talk during the hike about the local Poluvern community, life situation and tradition , which has developed in such a unique natural environment .
Hiking plan

during the day we move around Lake Imatu, Järvesoo and Pootsik dunes .

during the day we cross the ridges and swamps between the villages of Imatu and Mansika, or in local tradition, the "slave road" (approx . 9 km)
Must be considered with wet and sometimes more difficult sections typical of swamps .
