Estonian Humor Museum presents
Kuulo Vahter's cartoon exhibition "70 years on the funny side"
13.11.-30.11.2025
Kuulo Vahter started making funny pictures from an early age, followed by Danish artist Herluf Bidstrup and caricaturists from the magazine "Pikker". The first cartoons were published in the newspaper "Noorte Hääl" and the magazine "Pikker" already when he was in the seventh grade. The editorial offices of the magazine "Pikker" and the newspaper "Sirp ja Vasar" were the main places where the artist entered from time to time with a joke picture on his finger.
Rein Lauks invited Kuulo Vahter to become the artistic editor of the "Pikker" magazine instead of himself, with a diploma in the graphic arts department of the Art Institute. Later, Kuulo Vahter became a RAM singer of the National Men's Choir, but continued to draw cartoons in the newspapers "Eesti Ekspress", "Eesti Aeg", "Päevaleht", "Maaleht" and "Äripäev".
For the last 20 years, he has been working as a freelance artist and mainly made portraits and cartoons.
